
Norman L. Reimer is the Global CEO of Fair Trials. Fair Trials is a global criminal justice watchdog, fighting for fairness, equality, and justice. With offices based in London, Brussels, and the United States, Fair Trials campaigns across Europe, the UK, the US, and Latin America on issues that threaten the right to a fair trial or reinforce discrimination and racism through oppressive criminal legal systems. Before joining Fair Trials, Norman Reimer was the Executive Director of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the preeminent organization in the US dedicated to enhancing the capacity of the criminal defense bar to safeguard fundamental rights and promote reforms in further of a fair, rational, humane, and non-discriminatory criminal legal system. Prior to his time at NACDL, Norm was a criminal defense lawyer based in New York City for 28 years, practicing in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels and promoting systemic reform through both his service as a leader of the organised bar and the chair of numerous task forces and committees. Norm is a passionate advocate for the rights of the accused and the need to limit governmental overreach in the enforcement of its laws. He earned a B.A. in Politics and his J.D. from New York University.
